Recently, Kyle Busch appeared in an interview with The Athletic. He was asked about drivers having natural talent versus coming from a racing pedigree. Busch cited the example of his own son Brexton Busch, who is currently competing in Midget Cars. According to him, there are some racers who have a natural race craft or who have been taught well

Busch said, “I look at William Byron, where he wasn’t born into a racing family at all. His dad is a financial advisor and his mom was a teacher, if I’m not mistaken. But he just did sim; he grew up on a computer and then he did it in real life. And then he had always put himself in good cars and good equipment with good people around it and good teachers who would help him. He’s established himself as a Cup Series driver and winner. How much God-given talent does he have? I don’t know, but I feel like he’s been taught a lot more than maybe being born and raised in it, such as Brexton or somebody else like that.”

What awaits Kyle Busch this weekend at Martinsville?
Currently, Busch is itching to go racing at Martinsville, where he starts in a disappointing 18th. In other words, he has his work cut out, in order to have a good race finish for Joe Gibbs Racing. This will pretty much be the end of an era, because this is Busch’s penultimate race in Joe Gibbs Racing colors.

Admittedly, Kyle Busch is out of championship contention, having been eliminated in the opening round of the Playoffs. So he is under no pressure at all in this race and at next weekend’s finale at Phoenix. However, he and teammate Martin Truex Jr will likely be trying their level best to help Christopher Bell and Denny Hamlin’s title aspirations.
