In the high-stakes world of NASCAR, emotions often run high. Numerous triggers can prompt a driver to lose composure. Recently, however, it was Bubba Wallace who found himself in the eye of the storm, not so much for an act of anger, but rather the forum in which he chose to display it.

After the race at North Wilkesboro, Wallace appeared to make an inappropriate gesture while on live television. Thus, landing him in the middle of a scandal. Once this footage aired, a number of Kyle Busch fans took to social media to express their disapproval, questioning the seeming double standard when Wallace engages in such behaviors.

Following the race, Wallace seemed to provoke his critics by displaying an abusive gesture on live television.

As Fox Sports 1’s Jamie Little posed a question, Wallace’s attention was drawn off-camera. Seemingly under the guise of adjusting his collar, he subtly lifted his middle finger.

Furthermore, the incident may have been rooted in the driver’s introductions earlier that evening.

This was when Wallace faced a chorus of boos from the crowd. Rather than shrinking away, Wallace appeared to embrace the reaction, responding with a teary-eyed gesture of his own.
