Kyle Busch and RCR’s misery just keeps on piling up. Going by Rowdy’s current pace at The Magic Mile, it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel for the No. 8 team. Time and again, Busch has highlighted how he’s been unable to put up a fight against his rivals due to a lack of competitive race setup. And this is evident from his Stage 1 run at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

The #8 car was lapped by the race contenders, Chase Elliott and Christopher Bell. Although it seemed like Busch would put up a fight to keep his position and not go a lap down, he just wasn’t able to keep up. Eventually, the No. 9 Chevy and the No. 20 Toyota cruised past Busch. It is hard to believe that a 2-time NASCAR Cup Series champion is struggling to keep up with his competition, let alone contest for wins.

Richard Childress Racing was once a powerhouse racing team in the Cup Series, with the best lineup of drivers and fleet of best-running race cars. However, ever since their glory days with the Intimidator, Dale Earnhardt, they have failed to reach the pinnacle of NASCAR racing. Kyle Busch’s entry into the team fueled hope and optimism about taking RCR back to its former glory, but that experiment is headed in the opposite direction.

Forget competing for the championship; at the current pace, Busch won’t be able to make it into the playoffs. Also, there is a possibility that the driver could miss out on his historic streak of winning a race every year since 2005. While Rowdy thought he could pull the RCR team out of the ditch, it looks like they are dragging him down with them. Even the RCR fans are now fed up with the sorry state of affairs for its star driver every week.

Fans suggest Busch to explore options and take the exit route from RCR

Kyle Busch has openly accepted that he has had trouble with the Next Gen car. But, by no means, he is out of talent. In fact, he has won two Truck Series races this season. All he needs is good racing equipment and a clear project; the rest he can do on his own. But, it certainly won’t be possible if he continues his run with RCR, as a fan noted, “Rcr just a dumpster fire @KyleBuschneeds to find a new ride”.

Now Busch has another year left on his contract, and there’s always an opportunity for him to jump ships. Although it is hard to see him return to either JGR or HMS, there are still teams who would definitely like to work with him. He does have the option of staying at RCR for another year post-2025, but that would certainly not result in the storied end to his career that the driver is hoping for. A fan expressed similar thoughts, writing, “Kyle can chat with other teams start January 1st, 2025. If no one is interested I bet he goes to the house. RCR is down right disrespectful. Not chance KB sits through a 3rd season of these junk cars”.

Even some Kevin Harvick supporters made the most of this opportunity and threw jibes at RCR, drawing parallels to how they almost derailed Harvick’s racing career. “RCR ruined a lot of the beginning of Harvick’s career and now they’re ruining the end of KFBs”.

Another fan suggested that Busch should consider every option he has right now and ditch the team. At 39, he still has some good years of racing left in him, and he would only further bury himself in the ground if he decided to stay put with RCR. “Rcr is garbage KB needs to run !”

Some even went as far as to say that RCR would torment Rowdy to the extent that he would call it quits from NASCAR racing altogether. “rcr is seriously going to make kyle retire”.

Currently, it is tough to predict what will become of Kyle Busch and his time at Richard Childress Racing. However, there’s no denying the fact that he needs a miracle to save the rest of his 2024 season.
