The 2022 NASCAR season had its ups and downs. From enthralling race finishes with wall-hugging moves, to the scary wrecks and fights. But there was one story that gripped all fans – Kyle Busch and his bitter divorce from Joe Gibbs Racing.
Busch had been a part of Joe Gibbs Racing for 15 years. The driver had brought innumerable wins to the team in those seasons. And who can forget those five seasons between 2015 and 2019? 2 title wins, alongside three finishes in the top 4. Busch had been brilliant for JGR.

But since his second title in 2019, things started going downhill and finally came to a head in 2022. It began with M&M giving up on sponsoring him; that ended up being the straw that broke the camel’s back. JGR also decided against renewing Busch’s contract due by the end of 2022. While a lot was made of that, his departure was final and he moved to rivals, Richard Childress Racing.
Rowdy Nation was obviously on Busch’s side during the whole fiasco, but there were some who didn’t see eye to eye. One such fan asked on Twitter, “How do you piss off a decade-long sponsor like M&M’s? Oh yeah…FKB 🙄”

Busch had nothing to say, but two words. Those were three decades of The Candyman, all evaporating into thin air.
Busch may no longer have M&M on his side, but he has quickly found other companies ready to bet on his driving talent.
Kyle Busch has been “swimming” in sponsors
After being unceremoniously booted out of the team he helped build, Busch found a seat at RCR. While that opportunity came quite serendipitously, there were doubts about whether issues with regard to his sponsorship will solve.
But Busch has quickly put those to rest. Since his arrival, a long list of companies has signed him on. From Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen to 3CHI, Lenovo, and BetMGM – all have dipped their hands and made their contributions.

The latest addition to this has been Netspend. A payments and financial solutions provider, Netspend will be sponsoring Busch in 2023 in select races. One of the races that the company will sponsor is the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix, in Austin.
Since Netspend has its headquarters in Austin, they understandably wanted CoTA to be on their list of sponsored races.
