Historically too, but more so now, every decision that NASCAR makes receives more or less a polarizing response. The same is also the case with the current playoffs system, one which drivers like Kyle Busch appreciate,

And on the other side, the same system sometimes gets flak from other drivers and NASCAR insiders, like Freddie Kraft, the spotter of Bubba Wallace did a few months ago.

This, according to Busch, is just a matter of how far up the order a driver runs on a consistent basis. “When you’re good and you can run up front every week and you’re consistent and you’ve got good stuff, stage racing is a huge plus for you,” he said in a recent interview.

“But the guys who can’t do that — which now I’m kind of in that boat — it’s a pain in the neck because you’re just clawing for points and you just can’t seem to get them.”

The two-time Cup Series champion emphasized that the “format isn’t bad,” that it’s an “interesting” format, one that lends itself to be fair to the drivers who perform well consistently throughout the year.

“When they win races in the beginning of the year, that winning helps propel them through the playoffs. So you still do get to reap the benefits of that,” Busch continued.

“That has been a plus.”

Kyle Busch needs to “move on” from bitter JGR seperation

In a recent episode of the Race for the Championship, Kyle Busch had called out Joe Gibbs for the way he was shown the exit door in a team where he has raced for 15 years.

However, Busch’s comments didn’t really resonate with Freddie Kraft, the spotter of Bubba Wallace.

“I feel pretty confident in saying that Joe Gibbs did not fire Kyle Busch,” Kraft said in a recent episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast. “I’m pretty sure there was a deal to be had there if Kyle Busch wanted to make one. That’s kind of where I’m at with it.”

According to Kraft, Busch’s comments were nothing but “sour grapes” after what happened, as he insisted everyone involved in this whole situation now only has one thing to do.
