NASCAR is on a roll this campaign, bringing in exciting news time and again. With a return to North Wilkesboro Speedway after 27 years, the sport is certainly back to its roots. On the other hand, there are some interesting developments going as far as NASCAR’s crossovers with other sports are concerned. More importantly, it is Kyle Busch whose connection might just benefit his current team in landing an interesting prospect.
With NASCAR promoting bringing in new drivers from different motorsport racing arenas, Cup Series teams have been actively working behind the scenes. One such opportunity has arrived from the Supercars arena.

While not all NASCAR fans follow the Supercars championship, it is important to note Erebus Motorsport currently leads the competition. In fact, they lead the teams’ and drivers’ championships after three rounds. Much credit goes to driver Brodie Kostecki who’s leading by 100 points.
Interestingly, Erebus Motorsport will be visiting the States at the World Wide Technology Raceway in June. This will see Kostecki accompanied by the team’s CEO Barry Ryan. Very few know that Erebus Motorsport and Richard Childress Racing are affiliated as just in April, the Cup Series team acquired a Supercar from them.

While the affiliation happened through one of Kyle Busch’s engineers Andrew Dickinson, the two teams have surely grown a good business relationship with time. One of the major purposes behind Erebus’s trip involves getting Kostecki to land a NASCAR team for himself.
Apparently, he’s in talks with Richard Childress Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing. As reported by V8sleuth.com, there is a high chance that he lands a place in the Xfinity Series for one of the linked teams. However, with the team’s current affiliation with Busch’s engineer Dickinson, RCR has the upper hand.
As CEO Ryan said, “The Richard Childress thing, like I said, is through Andrew so it’s more a friendship at the moment but they’ve shown interest in Brodie, especially with how he is performing now and they know his history.”

While it will all come down to Kostecki to decide, RCR should feel confident about their chances with the Kyle Busch connection. Hopefully, they should soon share positive crossover news like the Trackhouse Racing team did recently.

Without a doubt, Ross Chastain has been the talk of the hour. However, his team has recently managed to take the limelight away from him with surprise news. Trackhouse Racing’s Project 91 initiative has seen them land a superstar driver to the team.
They have brought in three-time Supercars champion Shane Van Gisbergen for the Chicago Street Race. Ecstatic by the news, Gisbergen couldn’t control his excitement. As per trackhouse.com, he said, “I can honestly say I have dreamed about an opportunity in NASCAR, but really never thought it would become a reality.I can’t wait to get to the States to meet everyone and prepare for Chicago.

“It’s NASCAR’s first time on the streets of Chicago so in some ways everyone will be a rookie like me, but I don’t underestimate that it’s going to be a huge challenge.” Most certainly, it would be interesting to see how he does along with others in Chicago. Furthermore, such new additions and crossovers should help NASCAR grow in popularity on a global basis.
