Does Kyle Busch's attitude towards jail time make him a hero or a villain in NASCAR?

Guess what? NASCAR is making history with the announcement of the Cup Series races to be held in Mexico. In fact, for the first time ever! Scheduled for Sunday, June 15, 2025, the groundbreaking race will take place at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City. It makes it the first Cup Series race at the circuit. Among all the drivers ready to burn their wheels, the Mexican driver Daniel Suarez expressed his dream of the race in his hometown. However, he was not alone.

Kyle Busch, a driver who almost won at Daytona last weekend, has not won a single race this year. At the last upcoming race before the playoffs, it will be up to the two-time Cup Series Champion to make it into the top 16 as the green flag is waved at Darlington. So when the news of the Mexico City track being added to the Cup Series calendar surfaced, he was quick to put up a status on X to share that thought. However, it was not going to be smooth sailing, as last year, Kyle Busch got into some legal troubles in Mexico.

Just like this season making things difficult for Kyle Busch, the driver found himself in a bit of hot water when a 0.380 caliber pistol was found in his luggage at Cancun International Airport back in early 2023. But, lucky for him, he didn’t end up serving any time, and the whole mess was sorted out without too much fuss. What’s more? Kyle Busch even put out a public apology, saying it was just a mistake and not trying to dodge any laws.

2025 will be a new story with NASCAR looking to hold a race in Mexico City next year. Some fans are getting a bit jittery. To shut them up, Busch made it clear with his recent post on X saying, “Excited to race for another win in Mexico in 2025!” While some fans know what Busch meant by “another,” here is what you need to know about his last win.

For all who don’t know, Kyle Busch actually bagged a win in Mexico City back in 2008, which was his rookie year with Joe Gibbs Racing. Fast forward to June 15, 2025, and the Cup Series is set to make its debut at the Hermanos Rodríguez circuit, and Kyle Busch is ready to take on the same challenge in next-gen cars.

Despite having a difficult season, leave it up to Kyle Busch to remain positive to win a race. As we have seen so far, without winning a race this season, the Richard Childress Racing driver is currently out of the playoff spots. For Busch, the only way he can compete further is by winning the next race at Darlington.

Now that it’s clear that Busch can travel to Mexico City for the race, fans hope to see him recover from the start of the season and pick up his pace. With 2 championships, Busch is no stranger to the playoffs; however, this year, with just one race remaining, his chances seem low.
