Kyle Busch, apart from his illustrious NASCAR career, is also blessed with two children, Brexton (9) and Lennix (2). Brexton has already embarked on his journey to continue the family’s racing legacy. He often competes in midget series racing events and, so far, has managed a couple of podium finishes this season.
However, it’s not just Brexton who has picked up a knack for racing. According to a recent interview by Bob Pockrass on FOX, it seems like Lennix is also growing fond of his brother’s racing journey and developing an interest. So, is there a possibility of both Rowdy Juniors following in their father’s footsteps to become successful race car drivers? Well, Busch isn’t too optimistic about the prospect.

The RCR star was featured in a 1-on-1 interview with Bob Pockrass for FOX, where he spoke about his recent slump in performances, his chances of making it into playoffs, and much more. However, apart from his on-track troubles, he even shared some insights about his personal life.
He acknowledged the grind and the efforts his son Brexton is putting in on the racetrack. But, at the same time, he also revealed how his daughter, Lennix, has grown fond of his brother’s racing adventures. “This morning, we were playing – Brexton got some new race car stuff for his birthday. She wanted to play with that. She’s not really much of a Barbie girl.”
To which Bob further inquired about seeing her in a race car. However, Kyle Busch isn’t too sold on the idea just yet, as he replied, “Most likely, I don’t want her to – but whatever she wants to do.” Even his wife, Samantha Busch, agrees to his idea but they wouldn’t hold her off if she does take up racing. “Samantha’s good either way, but she agrees with me – she’d rather not … but she doesn’t think that we can hold her off.”
While it may seem like Rowdy is stressing over his chances of making it into the final 16, in reality, he’s more concerned about not being able to hit the milestone, which he has managed for 18 consecutive years in the Cup Series.

For a driver of Busch’s caliber, wins should be the focus to secure a playoff berth, not the points. However, this weekend’s race at the World Wide Technology Raceway marks a streak of 36 races going with a victory. Currently sitting at #14 in the standings, he is just two spots above the cut-off. Thus raising question marks on his entry into the knockout stages.
But, according to Busch, he is concerned about maintaining his 19-year winning streak, which would ultimately guarantee his playoff spot. “I’m not stressing over the playoffs probably as much as I’m stressing over the 20-year win streak. That’s the bigger goal. You win a race for that, you’re going to be in the playoffs. That’s the bigger one.”

He even emphasized the importance of the winning streak and how he’s managed to overcome hurdles while chasing the ultimate goal. “It says a lot. There’s a lot of different cars that I’ve raced in that time, there’s been a lot of different crew chiefs that I’ve worked with and engineers, and team and people and pit crew, and all that stuff. It just goes to show you how tough the sport is and what it’s become.”
All hopes are just not lost yet for Kyle Busch and the No. 8 RCR team. With 12 more races, a solitary win would see them make the final 16.
