Kyle Busch had a dismaying 2023 NASCAR season with only three wins in the bag. The 2x Cup Series champion raked in a victory on the second race of the season in the Pala Casino 400 at Auto Club Speedway, Fontana, California. However, the second half of the season witnessed a downside for the Richard Childress Racing driver. Busch ended the season at a saddening P14.

Nevertheless, the American racing veteran’s wins didn’t go unnoticed as he has topped a coveted list by surpassing the legends of NASCAR like Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty.

Every year, Lionel NASCAR Collectables LLC, through its brand, Lionel Racing, sells the die-cast version of the NASCAR driver’s car, and fans go crazy to get their hands on their favorite driver’s winning car’s scale model.

This year, it was Kyle Busch’s car that sealed the P1 spot under the 2023 Top 10 Raced-Win category. The Lucas Oil Auto Club #8 Chevrolet Camaro, which Busch drove to the victory lane at the Fontana race, was the fans’ first choice when going for a race-win die-cast model.

But what was so special about Kyle Busch’s Fontana victory? Well, the geography of Fontana can’t be ignored which portrays snowy weather and an abundance of underground water. The cracks on the Auto Club Speedway resulted in water springing on the track from the ground, commonly known as a weeper.

So, the asphalt wasn’t perfect for racing, and on top of that Busch finished second on stage 2, whereas Ross Chastain took the top spot. Nevertheless, Busch maintained his dominance in the third stage and brought in his first and memorable win for RCR. Keeping in mind all the extremities Busch had to go through, the win was quite emotional for the driver, the team, and the fans.

Despite not coming to par with the expectations, Kyle Busch’s P1 spot in the 2023 Top 10 Raced-Win category is an accomplishment in itself and could motivate the #8 Chevrolet driver to bring in more wins. But there’s more to it as a recently retired NASCAR legend has topped the entire die-cast list.
