According to an Instagram story from wife Samantha Busch, they managed to escape unscathed. Some video footage even showed glimpses of Busch and his son Brexton just exiting the mall.

The family was able to leave before the mall went into lockdown. Without a doubt, it was a really frightening moment, and the 2-time Cup champion was lucky to escape with his family.
How did Kyle Busch and his family respond to the matter?
Of course, the family was relieved to get out of the mall with their lives intact. They also prayed for the other patrons who were stuck inside the mall and were not as lucky as they were. Reports suggested that the incident itself was merely an isolated one, and the suspect fled.

Now, Kyle Busch will be recovering from the ordeal and then focusing on the next race of the 2022 Cup season. This weekend, the #18 Joe Gibbs Racing driver and his contemporaries are touching base at the Michigan International Speedway. Busch has won over there in the past, in the 2011 season.
However, Kevin Harvick has won four times, including three in a row, and Ryan Blaney is the most recent winner. Considering that both of them and Martin Truex Jr are still hunting for Playoff spots, the contest will be fierce.
