This weekend, the NASCAR paddock touches down in California for the Cup race at the Auto Club Speedway. Before the race, Kyle Busch was a little busy visiting local short tracks. As it turned out, he was busy watching his son Brexton Busch competing in a dirt race. In light of this, one fan had an interesting assessment of the normally polarizing driver.
Being able to get out and support the local short tracks when we’re on the road for @NASCAR is awesome. Thanks Keller Auto Raceway for having us out. (Also my kid knows how to work a mic, wonder where he gets it 🤦🏻♂️) @brextonbusch pic.twitter.com/fV59ysiT5N

He wrote, “Seeing how awesome Kyle is as a Dad and in everyday life (through social media) has drawn me to the conclusion that. KB is probably one of the most misunderstood and competitive racers in NASCAR history“. Suffice to say, the #18 driver agreed with the observation. According to him, if this statement was true, then it meant a lot to him.

How has Kyle Busch performed at the Auto Club Speedway?
Brexton Busch admitted that his father was ‘pretty good’, but not as good as he is. The youngster also admitted that he prefers the dirt track instead of the asphalt that Kyle Busch favors. Busch Jr also said that he performed fairly well at Fontana, as he started 6th and drove all the way up to third. Brexton Busch revealed that he qualified 2nd fastest, before taking a cheeky dig at his own father. Kyle said, “I qualified 2nd too“, to which the boy replied, “Second to last“, to everyone’s laughter.

The truth is, Busch is starting the WISE Power 400 in third place, behind Austin Cindric and Erik Jones. Busch will be eager to try and win the race, especially since the Team Penske Fords have drawn first blood. This is because of wins at the LA Coliseum for Joey Logano, and Austin Cindric winning the Daytona 500. On the bright side, Kyle Busch has backup in the form of teammate Denny Hamlin. However, Martin Truex Jr starts 12th, and Christopher Bell is starting in 19th.
