NASCAR fans can rejoice as Kurt Busch takes his first steps back into racing action since his concussion-inducing crash. However, it is worth noting that it will not be real live on-track racing, but in the simulator arena. He and several other Monster Energy-affiliated NASCAR drivers will battle each other in a unique event.

Busch will join the likes of Hailie Deegan, Riley Herbst, and Ty Gibbs for this event. Over there, they will join Luke ‘The Dingo’ Trembath for a live stream, as he races alongside them and interviews the drivers. This is because Trembath is hosting a show called Live and Unleashed with The Dingo, which is entering its second season.

Busch, Deegan, Gibbs, and Herbst be showcasing their driving skills to kick off the second season’s second episode.

The format goes as such, there is a “round robin” style competition on iRacing. Over here, the idea is to find the best “virtual” driver. For that, two drivers will face off, while the remaining drivers are interviewed by The Dingo. Other special guests include two-time Daytona 500 champion, Michael Waltrip.

To further up the ante, Monster Energy has revealed that they have more surprises in store, but are being tight-lipped. However, guesswork suggests that other details could include the cars being used and the tracks to be raced on. The event kicks off on October 6th at 9:00 AM PT on the Monster Energy Twitch channel.

Since the race takes place this Thursday, it means that it kicks off in the buildup to the NASCAR race weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Admittedly, this will be an important weekend for Herbst and Gibbs, as both are competing for the Xfinity Series Playoffs. Gibbs can still breathe a little, as he is 49 points above the cutline. Herbst, on the other hand, is just below the cutline, 10 points behind Ryan Sieg.
