Severe weather has swept up the South. As multiple tornadoes and storms plague parts of Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi, thousands of people are fighting through damages, blackouts, and loss of lives.

According to the reports published by the New York Times, at least eight people lost their lives due to the tornadoes in Alabama and Georgia. Moreover, around 50,000 customers have had no electricity since Friday, leading to increased reports of injuries and damages. As per the meteorologists, around 45 tornadoes have been tracked across the South. Most of these are expected to hit Alabama.

It surely is a tough situation for all the residents and officials of the tornado-hit regions. Amidst these difficult times, everyone, including NASCAR drivers, is praying for the people in the South. In his recent Twitter post, NASCAR driver Kurt Busch shared a picture of the tornado forecast. It was a snapshot of news footage, accompanied by a heartfelt caption.

Kurt Busch announces retirement from NASCAR Cup Series

Back in October 2022, Busch announced that he was stepping away from a full-time role in the Cup Series. Citing his health as a priority, Busch explained that he is not at 100% of his ability. After the Pocono wreck, Kurt was diagnosed with concussion-like symptoms. Due to this, the 2004 Cup Series champion had to step back from the rest of the 2022 season.

As per Fox 8, Busch said in a statement, “As I continue to focus on my health and work towards being cleared, I will be stepping away from full-time NASCAR Cup Series competition in 2023.”

Furthermore, he added, “I know I’m not 100% in my ability to go out and race at the top level in the NASCAR Cup Series.”

However, this does not mean that the 23XI Racing driver would not be getting back behind the wheel. In the same statement, he said that fans might soon see him at select races when his health issues are all cleared up. Moreover, he did assure fans that he will continue to give his best to the sport, even if his contributions seem a bit different when he is in a part-time capacity.
