Kyle Busch and Kurt Busch are two of the most popular names in NASCAR. The duo has individually found immense success in NASCAR, with Kyle still hunting for more. Recently, with the Richard Childress Racing driver’s win at Fontana, the Busch brothers became the most successful brother duo in the sport’s history. But have you ever wondered how they reached here? Or what has their journey been like?

Both Kyle and Kurt Busch have gone about their racing approach differently, yet they both have found success. While Kurt has won the NASCAR Cup Series once, his younger Busch has won it twice so far in his career. With Kyle’s 61 wins and Kurt’s 34 wins, they recently surpassed Bobby and Donnie Allison for the most combined wins as brothers. This was all possible because of one special ability.

Speaking on the NASCAR Race Hub, Kurt Busch spoke proudly about the achievements of his younger brother, Kyle. In line with that, he couldn’t help but share how their father, Tom Busch, played a vital role in training them to become one of the finest.

Few know but Tom himself was once a short-track racer and a mechanic. Kurt explained how he helped him and Kyle. The former Team Penske driver said, “This gets back to when my dad helped us with our first little go-kart and we just started traveling around not knowing how big things could get or what to expect next and the key thing though is adaptability.”

“That’s what Kyle and I have tried to do our whole career and it started with our dad teaching us how to work on the cars, how to race them, and then go to all the different tracks and how to master all the tracks.”

As per NASCAR, he said, “I took things for granted when I was younger. If I could teach my younger self to take a deep breath and don’t put so much emotion and high and low into every race. Just chill out a bit. I just thought it was all about me, me, me, over the years. I’ve understood it’s about the team.”
