In the latter half of the race, the battle for the lead was between three drivers. Kyle Larson, Kyle Busch, and Kurt Busch were all tussling with each other for glory. After passing his brother, Kurt Busch said, “It was like, Larson, Larson, Larson. You could see me a few times off Turn 4, I lost all my momentum. I’m like ‘find something!’. The next time you get there, I’m going to move him. Don’t count laps, I’m just going to move him. Then when I got to him, he must have checked up, something happened to his car.

“There was a side draft all the way in there, and I’m like, do I just do the full blown slide job? Because he’ll expect it. Then I see him bouncing off the fence, and I gave him the peace sign. I’m like, ‘Dude, I’m out.”

In the end, he was able to fend off a stern challenge from his brother and Larson. With this victory, he has booked his berth in the Cup Series Playoffs.
