Yes, Kurt Busch winning the race at Kansas could turn out to be an important moment for his team in the season and his own season. But at the same time, Busch taking the checkered flag was an important moment for his legacy as he achieved a rare feat.
And that feat is the fact that the 23XI Racing driver has now won a race with all three current OEMs/manufacturers.
Busch won the race at Kansas in a Toyota, he did so in a Chevy last season at Atlanta, and he won the Daytona 500 in 2017 in a Ford. But that’s not all, because Kurt Busch has also won a race in a Dodge, the last being at Dover in 2011.

Kurt Busch was pumped up after his historic win
After taking his first win of the season, naturally, Kurt Busch was all fired up. In his post-race interview, Busch credited his success to “teamwork.”
“I don’t do this alone, and the way Toyota’s helped us, JGR. My brother’s been so important on the family side of just, ‘Hey, you gotta get through these steps.’ Bubba is a tremendous teammate,” he said.
“This is 23XI. This is our first win for the #45 car and with the Jordan brand on the hood, I felt like I had to play like the GOAT, race like the GOAT and I had to beat Kyles, I had to beat both.”
With his first win of the season under his belt, Kurt Busch will surely have affected not just the #45 team to do better, but also the #23 team of Bubba Wallace, that anyway had a pretty solid outing at Kansas if not for some bad luck once again.
