Post his retirement from the NASCAR Cup Series in 2017, Dale Earnhardt Jr has indulged himself in multiple activities off the track. The two-time NASCAR Xfinity Series winner has been adventurous with the way he has opted to invest his earnings. It only got more interesting when he decided to join hands with one of the best moonshine-producing distilleries in one of his high-investment ventures.

Dale Earnhardt Jr’s partnership with Sugarlands Distilling

Dale Jr has always been a fan of vodka. Alongside that, during his racing days in the Cup Series, he was the face of the well-known brand Budweiser. However, he was approached by Sugarlands Distilling Co., most commonly known for its moonshine for a long-term project.

Speaking to Forbes last year, the 2 x Daytona 500 winner spoke about Sugarlands’ approach and the discussion that followed. He said, “They came into NASCAR around five years ago. We began conversations back then about how we could work together. I was really interested – in that point of my life – to do equity pieces instead of a PSA where they’d pay me a flat fee over the course of a year, two years or three years to just promote a brand.”

But the 48-year-old was keen to have ownership as he saw it as a long-term project. In fact, the majority of his current projects are focused on achieving long-term benefits. The reasoning behind this is so that it could help his children in the future.

With this in mind, on came the idea of launching the High Rock Vodka, an 88-proof spirit. The number was symbolic of Junior’s old car number, more frequently used in the second half of his illustrious career. However, what made this venture more special was the involvement of his wife, Amy Earnhardt.

Having a supportive partner is surely a blessing. Dale Jr is lucky to have one such companion in Amy. Having been married since the 2016 New Year’s Eve, the couple has seen it all.

They have seen some great highs, they have survived a plane crash, they have watched their two beautiful children grow and most importantly, they have handled all the criticism being strong and united. However, Junior felt the need for Amy to have something of her own.

He even explained how her wife has nothing but immensely supportive of him. As per Forbes, Dale Jr said, “When we met, she put everything in her life on hold for almost a decade so I could keep racing. It was all about me and what I needed to do in the moment, and she was really patient. She gave up a lot of her professional pursuits. Over the last several years, we’ve had a lot of conversations about how she needs a purpose in her life in the professional stance.”

While he wasn’t wrong in thinking that, the venture with Sugarlands Distilling provided the perfect opportunity. Amy is now a partner with Junior in promoting their High Rock Vodka brand. It will be interesting to see how their partnership goes as the Earnhardt family plan to lay a mark outside the tracks. Their recent success might motivate them more. Additionally, they even have shared some special recipes to offer and entice the audience.
