After Kyle Busch announced that he was joining Richard Childress Racing for the next season, fellow competitor, Kevin Harvick took a dig at Tony Stewart for not pushing for Kyle enough. He then also took to praise Busch while stating what kind of driver he was.

Harvick stated, “If it was my move, I would have been way more aggressive in trying to make sure (Busch) was on our team.” After being asked why did it not take place, Harvick said, “I’m not in charge.”

Previously, Harvick had praised Busch and said, “I know there’s a lot of things that go on around Kyle, but in the end, Kyle is still one of the best that’s ever come through this garage.”

“There’s a lot of teams that can say that they’ve never had one of those types of drivers.”

Kevin Harvick went on a 12-minute rant over NASCAR’s response to safety issues with the next-gen cars

It is widely known amongst drivers and the officials at NASCAR that the new Next-Gen cars lack certain important aspects when it comes to driver safety. After hearing what NASCAR had to say about the solution, Harvick became furious and delivered a 12-minute long rant.

During last week’s race, Harvick’s car suddenly combusted in flames after driving out of the pit road. The fire was supposedly caused by a build-up of rubber under the car. But under any circumstance, the fire protection insulation should have stopped the flames from getting out of control. However, as it turns out, the safety mechanism set in place failed, and Harvick was lucky enough to escape the car unhurt.

He also stated how NASCAR has only made significant driver safety changes after the deaths of famous drivers such as Dale Earnhardt Sr. He said that is when the new HANS device and SAFER barriers came into play.

Harvick was highly disappointed by the way NASCAR was handling things and also stated that he was being vocal about it since it was the “right thing to do for my colleagues.”
