Harvick stated, “Fairly certain@smclaughlin93 would be pretty good in a stock car as well. Just a random racing thought for the day on Twitter.” McLaughlin recently announced his multi-year contract extension with Team Penske. Before joining IndyCar, he had been the winner in the iconic Bathurst 1000 and held 3 Supercar Championships to his name.
The New Zealander has been a part of Team Penske in Supercar racing as well, all the way since 2017.
NASCAR Fans react to Kevin Harvick’s comments on Scott McLaughlin
Fans were excited at Harvick’s proposition of having the Kiwi in a stock car. Many stated that given the skill of McLaughlin and his three supercars championship wins, it would be a cakewalk for him to come into NASCAR.
Fans were really appreciative and supportive to watch the Supercar champion try his luck in the top series of NASCAR racing. Even with his experience in closed-wheel racing, the Kiwi might have had some problems adapting to the oval format of racing. But it would not be wrong to assume he would have played a dominant role in the road or street courses that NASCAR has to offer.https://twitter.com/dryan5962/status/1567875165479911425?s=20&t=kP8OCkgFz9lDQNPZHbjvrg
I can’t imagine the v8 supercar can’t be far off a nascar to drive especially on a RC.
