It is no secret that the 2015 and 2019 NASCAR Cup Series Champion Kyle Busch is going through a tough time recently. With an uncertain racing future and the added pressure surrounding the same, 2022 has been quite difficult for him. However, in an interesting interview, Busch revealed how his ‘stressful situation’ can actually help him stay ahead of others.

During the conversation, the interviewer pointed out that Busch has won his previous two Cup Series championships during some stressful situations and further asked if there was a correlation between him going through these things and winning the 2015 and 2019 Championship.
The question immediately reminded Kyle Busch of a theory he learned from Kevin Harvick. And he replied; “Boy, that would be nice. I think (Kevin) Harvick said it a few years ago. Didn’t he say that the lifespan of a driver was going to be much shorter now with this format? Just with all the stress of it and all that it takes.”
Talking about how the last few months have been extremely stressful for him, Busch said that he already has an edge over others. He revealed; “The stress of the last two or three months is like going through the Round of 8. So, I’m already living it. I’m already there. These bozos haven’t been there yet. They’re only going to feel it for three weeks, I’ve dealt with it for three months, bring it on.”
For all Kyle Busch fans, it is great to see their favorite driver being so optimistic. The ‘bring it on’ attitude of Busch is something that not many people might have expected owing to his current situation. His uncertain future with Joe Gibbs Racing and his NASCAR racing career, in general, is arguably quite stressful right now.

Kyle Busch is in his final contract year with Joe Gibbs Racing in 2022. However, his longtime primary sponsor M&M’s made an announcement before the beginning of the 2022 Cup season. They said that they would not be coming back with the #18 Toyota in the NASCAR Cup series in 2023.
Hence, due to a lack of sponsorship, Kyle Busch’s participation would be affected next year. If he does not get a sponsor, he wouldn’t be able to get a deal with Joe Gibbs Racing. Admitting that he is willing to accept a pay cut to return to his #18 Toyota ride, Kyle Busch feels that there is still hope. However, in the absence of a confirmation or announcement, fans are left wondering about the entire situation.

In case Kyle Busch does not get a deal with Joe Gibbs Racing, the team would have to replace the driver. Currently, Ty Gibbs, grandson of the team’s owner Joe Gibbs, seems like the obvious replacement. Ty Gibbs is a full-time NASCAR Xfinity series driver and has made it to three straight top 20 finishes in the Cup Series substituting for Kurt Busch.
