In fact, it’s a voyage back in time, a chance for Harvick to reconnect with his roots, his beginnings in the NASCAR Cup Series.

Kevin Harvick comments about getting back in the car with his debut number
As reported by RACER magazine, the Stewart-Haas Racing driver stated, “Well, I think it’s going to be strange just climbing into it.
“For me, there’s a huge sense of pride being able to be a part of something like this with both organizations. Going back in time and doing everything that weekend in the 29-car is something I’m really excited about.
“I think when you go out on the racetrack. The fans will be in the same boat. As you go by the first time, people are going to be like, ‘I can’t believe that actually happened.'”

He will slip into the driver’s seat of the #29 car after a decade on Friday, adding yet another heartfelt chapter to his illustrious career.

In a heartfelt nod to his racing origins, Harvick is set to climb into the #29 this weekend, a number that marks the start of his journey in the NASCAR Cup Series. Harvick inherited this number, along with Dale Earnhardt Sr’s car and team, following Earnhardt’s tragic demise in 2001.

With the All-Star Race being a non-points event, Harvick saw it as the perfect opportunity to once again take the wheel of the #29 in his final season as a full-time driver. The emotional reunion extends beyond the number, as the car will carry a paint scheme reminiscent of Harvick’s first Cup Series win in Atlanta in 2001.
NASCAR fans cherish Harvick reuniting with the special car number
NASCAR shared an old clip of Harvick driving around in the #29 car, citing that he would get back in the same numbered car once again this weekend. Soon after several fans celebrated Harvick and his history with the number in the Cup Series.

One avid follower exclaimed, “Best Harvick scheme to win it too!” Simultaneously, a fan’s nostalgic reaction was, “Back when race cars were race cars.” On top of this, another enthusiast confidently declared, “The Gen 4 raced well at every racetrack I swear.”
Injecting humor into the conversation, another person amusingly recollected one of Harvick’s previous comments, jesting, “Back then, cars weren’t made with crappy ass car parts.”
