Earlier this month, news broke that Kevin Harvick will be stepping away from NASCAR for good after 2023. To be completely honest, it will be the end of an era as the 2014 champion hangs up his helmet at the end of an illustrious career. He once admitted that if he was going to walk away, it would be for the sake of his children.

Ex-NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace too reiterated Harvick’s sentiment when said that he was confident that Harvick’s children would follow in their father’s footsteps. Wallace mentioned on the Kenny Wallace Show on YouTube, “I bet you a dollar that Kevin Harvick is sat down with Tony Stewart and Gene Haas and everybody there. They said, ‘Hey… I’m pretty sure that Keelan’s going to do it.’

“I would bet that there is something in place. That’s where Kevin and DeLana’s son, Keelan, is going to be with Stewart-Haas. It’s just that simple. Now, it could go the other way, but it’s not going to be hard. I think you’re going to watch Kevin Harvick and DeLana, they’re going to tutor these babies.”

What lies ahead for Kevin Harvick in his final season?

After a fairly dismal 2022 Cup Series campaign, Harvick is on the hunt for redemption. Although he managed to reach the Cup Series Playoffs, he was eliminated in the first round. Also joining him in the relegation zone were the Richard Childress Racing duo, Austin Dillon and Tyler Reddick, as well as Kyle Busch. Now, the driver will be hoping for the perfect swan song as he enters his final season.

It is also worth mentioning that if Harvick really is aiming to bring his children to the SHR family, he won’t be the first. When Kyle Busch first inked his new deal with Richard Childress Racing, there was a promise for Brexton Busch as well. With the young boy also racing, Busch Sr will be aiming to see his son eventually make it to the highest tier of NASCAR. If RCR can make that happen—all the more power to them.
