Kevin Harvick was not kidding when he said he had been preparing for his retirement life for years. After spending 23 years building a $70 million empire for himself, the racing icon hung his suit, and let’s just say he did that in style. The news of his latest purchase has reached all across America and everyone feels his retirement gift to himself, something that’s straight out of Hollywood, couldn’t be more iconic.
As per the latest news to escape the cracks of NASCAR, the former Stewart-Haas Racing star is now the owner of a multi-million dollar mansion. Interestingly, this puts him one step closer to the lifestyle of his former boss, Tony Stewart.

In the last episode of The Dale Jr. Download podcast, Kevin Harvick talked about a major revelation that he recently had. While running a ‘2-year simulation’ of downsizing and getting used to the post-retirement life with his family, Harvick was faced with the fact that he had spent, in his own words, “too much money.” In light of this, the former #4 driver might not like to be reminded that his latest purchase of a $6.75 million mansion follows the same trend.
As reported by Charlotte Business Journal, the mansion that he has recently bought is remarkable for more than one reason. It is a building that was featured in the Hollywood blockbuster Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. According to Mecklenburg County’s real estate records, the mansion on Lake Norman was bought late last month. Since the property was last sold for $4 million, it came back on the market with complete renovations and is now the prized possession of the 2014 Cup Series champion.
Through the purchase, Tony Stewart’s former driver has now gained multiple positions on the list of NASCAR’s most expensive residences. Earlier, with his $3.34 million home in Charlotte, Harvick was behind the likes of Dale Earnhardt Jr and Kurt Busch, but now, he has pulled one over them.

In a recent podcast episode with Dale Earnhardt Jr and Mike Davis, Kevin Harvick said that he wanted to downsize everything now that he has retired. He said, “We wanted to live the last two years and try to fit that in the window of saying, ‘Here’s the budget that we will have, and here’s what we need to do, and here’s the things that you need to change along the way’, so it wasn’t culture shock.”

But as everyone would agree, Harvick’s purchase of the “Talladega Nights” mansion doesn’t appear to be a downsizing effort. However, on the other hand, the purchase now makes him the owner of the 6th most expensive mansion in NASCAR. Below him is Kurt Busch, with his $3.95 million “Chateau Du Busch” lakeside mansion. Up top of the list is the racing legend Tony Stewart. At $30 million, his 415-acre retreat in Indiana is the priciest residence in all NASCAR.

His new, lavish residence should undoubtedly serve to be a good base for his future goals. Meanwhile, Harvick will be taking up the role of an analyst with Fox Sports in 2024, while focusing on his family and the career of his son, Keelan.
