The Earnhardt Family has been one of the most celebrated in the history of NASCAR. Dale Earnhardt Sr. established himself as one of the biggest superstars of NASCAR with seven cup championships. His son Dale Earnhardt Jr. also resonates with fans for his key insights as a broadcaster and iconic on-track performances for Dale Earnhardt Inc. and Hendrick Motorsports. Apart from them, Dale Jr.’s half-brother Kerry Earnhardt also made waves with his NASCAR appearances in the early 21st century.
Though he was not as successful as his brother or father, his journey to the pinnacle of sport resonates with fans. Kerry spent his childhood with his mother Latane Brown and stepfather Jack Key. He was just a year old when Brown and Earnhardt Sr. parted ways. Despite these struggles, Kerry made his place in the racing world with his skills and experience. He often makes headlines for his comments about the sport. However, recently he gave marriage advice that stirred a conversation among fans.

As 2025 began, Kerry Earnhardt shared a heartfelt message that caught everyone’s attention. He shared an unwritten rule of marriage life which resonated with fans and went viral soon. Kerry took his Instagram to share a picture of his wife, Rene. Posting a picture, Kerry wrote, “I am starting the year off good… Let’s hope she’s still smiling 365 days from now. #happywifehappylife.”
However, married life has not always been a bed of roses for Kerry. At a young age, he had two failed marriages. After which, Kerry has been married to his wife, René, since 1999. His best performance came in NASCAR Xfinity Series where he scored six top 10 finishes in 72 race starts. He also made waves in the Nationwide Series and ARCA races. Apart from this, Earnhardt Jr. might make a comeback to NASCAR as well. Though he is not going to compete in 2025, he has revealed that 2026 might be that year. However, he admitted that it all will depend on the requirements at JR Motorsports. “I’m not planning on racing next year. I don’t have a requirement to run next year, so I may just not do it. And I will miss it terribly, regret that I didn’t race, and probably in 2026 find me somewhere that I can go compete in the Xfinity Series again. But right now, I don’t have any plans,” he had said last year.
As fans await the comeback of Dale Earnhardt Jr. on the racing track, his commitment to JR Motorsports and his Cup Tours venture continues. With just a few weeks left to the start of the racing season, fans will expect a surprise appearance from him in NASCAR as well. However, they can catch him in late models at Florence in August.
