Kenny Wallace's mom stands up for Danica Patrick—Is the criticism against her really justified?

NASCAR fans are very critical of the drivers they support. And once a driver finds their place in their bad books, there’s no turning back. This is something Danica Patrick could relate to, as she had a hard time dealing with the constant barrage of criticism thrown at her while she was racing. She is seen as a controversial figure in the racing community, but according to Kenny Wallace, it is all because she is a woman who made her name in a male-dominated sport.

Not only that, Wallace’s mom, Judy, had enough of the unnecessary flak that is often thrown at Danica Patrick. Reacting to the recent Kenny conversation show with the former SHR driver, she had a stern message for the online naysayers.

Patrick is arguably one of the best female race car drivers ever; these were the claims made by Kenny Wallace when he had her on the show. Well, he wasn’t just hyping her; she does have some big achievements to her name. An IndyCar win in Japan, the only win by a woman in the series. First pole by a woman driver in the NASCAR Cup Series. Also, she holds the record for the highest finish in the Indianapolis 500 and Daytona 500 as a female racer.

She did have a decent racing career in the Cup Series, racing for SHR for five years on a full-time basis. But still, for some reason, fans do not miss an opportunity to get on her case. Reacting to this negativity after the show, Wallace, addressing the issue, stated, “She watched, my mom watched that Kenny conversation with Danica Patrick. Okay, speak up a little bit. Tell me about that Danica Patrick conversation.”

Judy had nothing but love for the former NASCAR driver. “I just loved it. I love her grit, I love her determination. I hate all the bad*** guys that got on her case. Well, somebody should tell them. But anyhow, that was a super, super, conversation.” This even got Patrick’s attention, who took to her X account and replied, “Haha! So cute! Thank you mama Wallace. ☺️”.
