A NASCAR Cup Series race is incomplete without a bit of theatrics. Whether it’s on-track bickering or off-track brawls, NASCAR has always been at the center of some unique spectacle. And it surely lived up to its standards, in its debut race at Chicago on Sunday. The deluge that began on Saturday was carried over on Sunday and tried to jeopardize the race.

But nothing could dampen the spirits, as the race delivered the biggest ratings for NBC in six years. While there were uncertainties that loomed over the drivers, however, the drivers delivered a remarkable performance as Shane van Gisbergen went on to take the chequered.

But among the memorable moments of victories, there were certain instances that drew the biggest attention among the fans. Even the veteran Cup Series driver Kenny Wallace could not have enough of these instances.

Kenny Wallace mocks Legacy Motors’ Noah Gragson for his crash on the streets of Chicago

The Chicago Street Race was perhaps the most anticipated race of the ongoing season among the NASCAR community, given its alien conditions and unforgivable tracks that could make or break the outcome of the driver’s effort. Nevertheless, the performance that the race delivered perhaps stood up to the expectations of fans and teams alike.

But the most memorable of the downtown race was the massive pile-up at Turn 11 and how tire barriers were a headache for the drivers and especially Noah Gragson of Legacy Motors, who kept on crashing at Turn 6 of the track. The turns have been a nightmare for the drivers, way before the cars hit the tracks of Chicago, and Noah Gragson seemed to make those forebodings true.

The No.42 Chevrolet crashed four times on the track and all the crashes took place at Turn 6. This eventually took a hilarious turn, and Kenny Wallace seemed to assert that. On the episode of Kenny Wallace’s show, the veteran driver mockingly added, “Noah Gragson hit the wall four times. He was a human highlight reel.”

Initially, fans took pity on the driver, struggling on the track, but the repetition of the event at the same place took the shape of a funny incident. And it comes days after the driver shared a clip of him promoting his primary sponsor, Wendy’s.

In the video, he was seen speaking, “I am Noah Gragson, driver of Wendy’s No.42 Chevrolet Camaro in the NASCAR Cup Series and I am always bacon. Can I interest anybody in a Bacanator? It’s on the sides of your train. That was about a ride. If you ain’t sipping a frosty you tripping.”

Moreover, fans connected the wrecks with the fast food company.

Fans took to Twitter to share their sardonic stance on the driver.

They wrote, “Didn’t know there was a Wendy’s outside of Turn 6″.

“He must have thought they were selling Baconators in the turn 6. He kept stopping there.”

“Turn 6, extra onions!”

Others also added, “He tried to escape the track a few times today to get him a burger. Dang tire barriers kept him from being successful.”

“Didn’t know there was a Wendy’s outside of Turn 6…makes more sense now.”
