With the 2020 Cup Series title to his name and Championship 4 appearances in the last three consecutive years, Chase Elliott is an asset to Hendrick Motorsports. This 27-year-old driver has been pioneering Rick Hendrick’s $315 million team since he was just a teenager. However, the current season broke his playoff streak for the first time in 7 years and people can’t seem to stop talking about it.
Earlier this year, he suffered from a 6-race-long hiatus plus one penalty for wrecking Denny Hamlin at the Coca-Cola 600. All done and dusted, NASCAR veterans are now analyzing Elliott’s crucial decision that he made back in March.

If you google “The most famous Cup Series team in NASCAR”, you will most likely see the name Hendrick Motorsports popping up at the top. And Chase Elliott is the frontman of this almost 40-year-old team. Besides that, Elliott is currently holding the fan-voted title of the most popular driver in NASCAR. Considering all the above, everyone in the community is bound to set high expectations for this Dawsonville native.
So, as Chase Elliott, who has so much riding on him, you cannot just try bungee jumping. You just cannot afford to risk the enormous prospect that awaits you outside the tracks. And this is what, perhaps, Kenny Wallace hinted at in one of his recent videos.
Kenny breathed sarcasm while describing the aftermath of Chase Elliott’s accident. We all know that Chase Elliott broke his left tibia and stayed away from the driver’s seat for quite some time. Indeed, Chase Elliott is printing money and is one of the most well-to-do drivers in NASCAR, but wasn’t his decision to go skiing a little rash?
Talking about the same, Wallace laughed scornfully, saying, “I don’t know if he uses two skis ever, but Chase Elliott is young, he’s dynamic, good-looking guy, dark tan, up to date.
“‘We’re gonna snowboard!’,” he said, imitating Elliott.
He then went ahead to rant about how Chase had neglected his million-dollar day job and went snowboarding. “As far as Chase Elliott missing the playoffs, I’m gonna blame it all on the skiing accident,” he stated blatantly.
Speaking as Chase Elliott, Wallace added, “And by the way, if you add all the percentages, I’m probably gonna knock down about 11 million this year.”
Both Alex Bowman and Chase Elliott checked their names off of the playoff contention by taking part in non-NASCAR events. But life cannot be limited. So what is the solution?
Wallace advised, “You can limit the dangerous stuff.”
But surprisingly, the man who is at the center of all of this doesn’t look back at any of his decisions with regret.

Surgeons put screws in Chase Elliott’s left knee the night of the accident in Colorado. Therefore, the winningest team in NASCAR lost their favorite driver for 6 weeks. However, the Chevy star seemed to have no remorse about the incident.
According to ESPN, “I wasn’t out doing anything that was wild or crazy,” said Chase Elliott, “I don’t have a cool story to tell. It was just that perfect storm that could happen at any point in time.”

According to him, accidents can happen anytime, anywhere. After all, even while you run, you can trip and fall. So, Elliott considers snowboarding as an essential part of his physical fitness regimen.
He said, “The accident could have happened tripping down stairs, or on a jog. Snowboarding is something that I’ve been doing for a long time. I am comfortable doing it.”

“It’s one of those things that I’ve used as a training tool over the years; no different than riding bikes,” he added.
