With the 2021 season wrapped up, all eyes will soon turn to the 2022 season. One of the teams who is looking forward to the coming campaign is Kaulig Racing. Recently, its president, Chris Rice, revealed that the outfit is making a big announcement on Wednesday. Obviously, this will work wonders in making the fans excited and eager to see what the whole fuss is about.

Last year the outfit enjoyed a reasonably decent season, with AJ Allmendinger grabbing an unexpected win. That triumph came at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course race. Sadly, since he was only a part-time driver, he was not eligible to make the Playoffs.

Now in 2022, the team is running on a full-time basis and have recruited Justin Haley. Haley will drive the #16 car, and the team is also fielding a second car. Allmendinger will return to the team once again, but he will again race on a part-time basis.

What will the Kaulig Racing announcement be?

Of course, the number one question on fans’ lips will be what this mysterious announcement is. One plausible theory is that it could be a driver announcement. Since AJ Allmendinger is only a part-time driver, it is obvious that he will share driving duties with someone. However, his partner will remain unknown for a little while longer.

Possible options include Kaz Grala, who was one of the part-time drivers last year. Another potential candidate could be reigning Xfinity Series champion, Daniel Hemric. According to reports, the newly-crowned champion has just joined Kaulig Racing in their Xfinity Series division. It is also possible that Jeb Burton or Zane Smith could be likely candidates for that second Cup seat, shared with Allmendinger.

However, it is also possible that the announcement may not relate to drivers. It is entirely possible that the team could reveal some new sponsors, or some other projects of theirs. One thing is for sure, Chris Rice and the Kaulig Racing team will be tight-lipped until the following day, when they are ready to reveal the secret.
