As we inch closer and closer to the 2024 NASCAR season, the seats are slowly filling up fast. Kaulig Racing is the latest team to confirm a new arrival but in the Xfinity Series. It was already established that AJ Allmendinger would compete full-time, alongside Shane van Gisbergen and Josh Williams. Now, they will be joined by Daniel Dye on a part-time basis, driving the #10 car.

The official announcement confirmed that Dye will compete in a total of 10 races. The first race on his list is at the Daytona International Speedway. Beyond that, Dye is expected to also compete at Martinsville, Dover, Iowa, Pocono, Indianapolis, Michigan, Kansas, Las Vegas, and Phoenix. Furthermore, he will be backed by sponsors, Champion Container, and Race To Stop Suicide for these 10 races.

Surprisingly, this is not Dye’s first gig in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. He competed for the Alpha Prime Racing team, driving the #44 car for two races. Before that, he competed in the ARCA Menards Series for GMS Racing. During that series, while driving for GMS Racing, he snatched a race win at the Berlin Raceway in 2021. That win came in just his second start in the series, and in the following year, he finished 2nd in the championship.

Dye is only 20 years old, so he has plenty of time to develop as a racer. It is also worth mentioning that Daniel Dye hails from a fairly rich sporting background. His father Randy Dye is a former Pro Late Model driver, who has since turned to the world of business. In addition to that, he occupies a seat on the board of directors for The NASCAR Foundation. Additionally, Kansas City Royals baseball player Josh Dye is his cousin.

Will the team be one to watch out for in the Xfinity Series?

With its alliance with Trackhouse Racing, Kaulig Racing could become very strong. They already have a fan-favorite superstar like van Gisbergen, as well as a road course expert in AJ Allmendinger. Josh Williams will be looking to impress in his first season for the team after making the move from DGM Racing. However, there are plenty of teams who are front-running contenders in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
