Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the happiest of them all? Not in the world but in NASCAR, after Kansas weekend. The obvious answer is Denny Hamlin. The race weekend at Kansas came as a complete package of thrill for NASCAR. Whether it is the metaphorical neck-to-neck fight for the top position or the amazing twists and turns throughout. Adrenaline was running through the roof not just for the drivers but also for the audience, who were clearly on the edge of their seats.

But, Denny Hamlin simply stole the show, with his performance at AdventHealth 400. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver did not hold back after finally ending his winless slump and let everybody know about it in the recent iteration of his podcast.

Hamlin brags about predicting the end of 33-race winless slump

It was Kyle Larson, who was the weekend favorite among fans. The HMS star was on the verge of clinching his third win of the season, especially after two terrible weeks of suffering and disappointment. However, it was the Joe Gibbs Racing driver who had the last laugh at Kansas.

Denny Hamlin’s jubilation was clearly evident, in the latest episode of his podcast, ‘Action Detrimental’. He exhibited his enthusiasm while talking to his co-host Jared Allen. The #11 Toyota driver said, “Hey Jared, winner winner chicken dinner. Thought to include that in your intro.” 

While Denny’s co-host Jared Allen simply stated the happy facts, “Denny Hamlin winner of yesterday’s race at Kansas.”

Further, Denny Hamlin’s excitement reached a new high. He added, “Winner, yes. I love it. 49th of my career, 400th for uh (Cup Series wins for Joe Gibbs Racing).” In response, the co-host joked, “50th with an asterisk.”

Moreover, Hamlin also ended up taking a shot at his haters after his controversial Kansas win triggered boos from the fans. The 23XI Racing co-owner shared, “Man, there are so many asterisks. Let’s just not even, I really feel like I have 70. But no, awesome, awesome weekend. Great bounce back weekend. We are officially white hot. Called that sh*t four weeks ago, it’s officially on now.”

 After a disappointing start to the season, Denny Hamlin had to deal with a lot of bad luck. As expected, he had to work his way through the field and was also involved in a race-deciding incident with Kyle Larson. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver had a winless season, before the Kansas race. It was Kyle Larson, from Hendrick Motorsports, who was clearly dominating the race, leading 46 consecutive laps.

However, the final lap made all the difference. The 42-year-old made contact with Larson’s car, which ended up hitting the wall. However, Kyle Larson did well to keep going after avoiding yet another disaster. While Denny Hamlin glided past beside him to take the checkered flag, Larson finished second in the race. Ending his 33 races drought, Denny Hamlin certainly proved that he still has the zeal to chase more wins.
