Back in August, former NASCAR driver Justin Marks announced his intention to create a new team. The 39-year-old hung up his racing boots for good at the end of the 2018 season. Now, he is set to return to the fray, however, as a Cup Series team owner this time around.
He proudly christened Trackhouse Racing, which will make its debut in 2021. According to the latest information, some more details are expected on October 7. It is worth noting that Marks placed a bid for the soon-to-be-defunct Leavine Family Racing team.

What else is there to know about the new NASCAR team?
Marks revealed that he was initially in talks with various teams for a 2021 seat. However, he soon changed his mind and elected to set up a new team.
Of course, setting up a NASCAR team is not as simple as apple pie, Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan can attest to that. So, the ex-NASCAR driver is using all of his entrepreneurial expertise to fund 50% of the team’s operational budget.

However, that alone is not enough to sustain it, so he has to hunt for sponsors to help keep the team afloat. Besides that, there are other hassles, like deciding a racing number, a driver, and even an engine supplier. Other headaches include searching for a crew and crew chief, as well as other nitty-gritty details.
He said, “We really want to wipe the slate clean of the traditional model. Create a lifestyle entertainment company that competes in sport but does so much more.

“There is more and more pressure on corporations to invest in the community. Along with energy sustainability, responsible governance, all those things. So what we want to do with this race team is satisfy that need and create a meaningful platform. Where partnering with our team can be cause and impact marketing.”
