When we talk about what’s most important for NASCAR drivers, the answer isn’t just winning races and championships. From the France family’s involvement in building the sport to the Earnhardt and Petty family’s insurmountable legacies, for most NASCAR stars, family comes first. So when Josh Williams did just that to welcome his first child with his wife, Trazia Williams, the community eagerly anticipated the good news! However, a few haters twisted this wholesome occasion around, prompting Williams to silence them once and for all.

Josh Williams balanced “baby watch” and professional commitments perfectly

When Josh William’s multi-year deal with Kaulig Racing was announced at the end of 2023, the pressure would be higher than ever on the 30-year-old. While the Port Charlotte native expected to bring home a few wins for the #11 garage this season, none of it has come to fruition in the opening races. Williams started the season with a DNF at Daytona and only managed to bring home a top-15 at Vegas as his best result. So, heading into COTA this weekend, Williams was expected to make a much-need comeback.

However, the timing clashed with the birth of his first daughter, Ettalynn, causing the 30-year-old to pull out of qualifying and practice to embrace his new role as a father. Taking to X, Bob Pockrass revealed his replacement for the sessions. Daniel Hemric will practice and qualify the Kaulig No. 11 Xfinity car for Josh Williams, who has been on baby watch. Williams is expected to be here for the race on Saturday.”

While Pockrass explicitly mentioned that Williams would be back on duty for the Focused Health 250, a hater took this opportunity to take a jab at the 30-year-old’s recent performance. The user stated, On baby watch?!? Or scared to miss the show in an @KauligRacing car?? Pulling an @SpencerBoyd.” Not pulling any punches against Williams or Truck Series driver Spencer Boyd, the user believed baby watch” was just an excuse.

Although they stated that Williams feared the pressure from his championship-caliber team, the 30-year-old was back in action on Saturday for the race. Despite mechanical failures plaguing his outing, Williams had shown up and proven the hater wrong right off the bat. He even took to X to deliver his rebuttal, “Go F@%k yourself.”

And that’s not all! The NASCAR community also chimed in to share their support for Josh Williams.

Even though Williams’ 2024 season hasn’t been unfolding the way fans had expected, none have been so bold to downright insult the driver’s priorities. Naturally, those who understood his decision wasted no time jumping to Williams’ defense on X. Users immediately returned the favor to the hater as they stated, “I see you’re very fun at parties,” while another shared, “It’s wild some of you people actually think he was at risk of missing the race 😂”

On the other hand, users also pointed out the hater’s questionable grammar. A fan highlighted, “Attacking someone like that and not using ‘an’ properly is crazy,” with a fellow user also sharing, “If you’re gonna s**t talk, at least do a better job….” At the end of the day, some people felt it was all for attention; “If the definition of ‘Attention Starved’ was a person. #DARF”

The fact of the matter stood out to the entire community. This fan was on their sarcasm A-game and wrote, “Believe it or not, being there for the birth of your child is a pretty big deal. Shocking, I know.” Another concluded by dropping a ‘clown’ emoji on the hater and stating, “Oh look, ANOTHER keyboard warrior being all brave hiding behind his screen!! FREAKIN”
