The 2024 NASCAR Cup Series campaign will see several new faces driving full-time, and one of them will be Josh Berry. The 33-year-old has won several accolades in his time in motor racing, perhaps the most impressive being his NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series win in 2020. He may be making his full-time debut in the Cup in 2024, but he is a veteran of the sport with 2 successful full-time seasons in the Xfinity Series. Fans will be eagerly waiting to see how Tony Stewart’s latest recruit performs in a full-time Cup Series role.

Josh Berry has essentially been brought in by Stewart-Haas Racing to replace Kevin Harvick. The Chaser retired from the sport at the end of the 2023 season. Berry will be driving the #4 car, which Harvick used to drive, so it’s pretty clear that there will be a lot of pressure on the 33-year-old.

However, if his run in the Xfinity Series with JR Motorsports is anything to go by, Tony Stewart may have signed the perfect replacement. The 33-year-old is a serial winner and knows how to win championships as well. Apart from NASCAR, Josh Berry has been successful in the CARS Tour, winning the championship in the 2017 Late Model Stock category.

His on-track successes have earned him several fans throughout his career, but perhaps the person who is his biggest fan is none other than his wife, Ginny Berry, and his daughter, Mackenzie Berry. They can often be seen at race tracks supporting the 33-year-old as he chases for race wins and championships.

That’s a tough question. Josh Berry’s racecraft and experience are not things one can question, but when it comes to his team, it’s a completely different story. Stewart-Haas Racing is an unpredictable team. Nobody expected them to do as badly as they did in the 2023 Cup Series, but they emerged victorious in the Xfinity Series with Cole Custer.

Josh Berry will undoubtedly do his level best to win races in the #4 SHR Ford Mustang, but it all depends on what kind of car Tony Stewart’s engineers come up with. The immediate goal of the 33-year-old will be to qualify for the playoffs and go as far as possible. But given Stewart-Haas Racing’s struggles in 2023, will he be able to do it? Only time will tell.
