In his announcement, Josh Berry talked about the calculated decision taken by Wood Brothers Racing and Team Penske before officially signing him into the program. Similarly, the decision regarding his crew chief will ultimately also be made by them after taking the required measures and thoroughly evaluating both internal and external options to find the best fit for the No. 21 Ford program.
“First and foremost that decision is also going to be by the Wood Brothers and Team Penske. They are going to look internally and maybe externally for what’s going to be the best fit for this program to work alongside the other cars,” Berry said while addressing his take on the whole crew chief debate. “but I had a great relationship with Rodney and he is going to be with them. It’s going to come down to all of these things put together, everyone deserves a fair opportunity at it”
