As NASCAR was in Martinsville for the fifth round of the NASCAR Truck Series, the outing was not a great one for Hailie Deegan. To call it bad luck would be an understatement. How about we call it bad-luck after bad-luck?

The Martinsville race turned from daydream to nightmare for the Camping World Truck Series driver Deegan. The 20-year-old driver faced a brutal shove by Johnny Sauter against the wall. As the commentators picked up to say “she didn’t do anything wrong, she was just racing”, the hard luck continued for the young American.
Johnny Sauter seemed to be apologetic after the shove-off. While Sauter finished the race in second place, he pushed Hailie down to 19th.

When asked about the incident, Sauter conveyed, “You know I got little bit loose coming off the corner. That was bad and mean, so I got into a little bit tensed lap and got into her. So that was not cool.” In fact, fans applauded Deegan for not losing her cool and acting in an unprofessional manner.

The bad luck continues for Hailie Deegan
However, this is not the first time the David Gilliland Racing driver has been handed a poor result for no fault of her own. Although Hailie had been pushing for a better result this time out, hard luck struck once again like the earlier times.
Deegan paid hefty prices week-in week-out for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Even a freak fire had its day to ruin the race for the young driver. In all five races she started this season, Hailie finished outside the top-10 every single time.
