Last year during the GEICO 500 at the Talladega Superspeedway, there was a scary moment. In the middle of the race, Joey Logano got turned around and his car went airborne. His car barrel-rolled a couple of times before coming to a rest on all four wheels. However as he flipped, Logano barely missed colliding with Bubba Wallace, who was millimeters away.

In fact, Logano’s #22 car had just grazed Wallace’s #23 machine. Luckily, Bubba Wallace was able to drive away unscathed and continue his race. Admittedly, there was some minor damage, but Wallace continued on like nothing had happened to his car. All in all, everyone was glad that Logano and Wallace, as well as other drivers involved, escaped without injury.

How did Bubba Wallace perform in the 2021 GEICO 500?
Unfortunately, the best that Wallace could muster was 19th place. It was not such a terrible result, but he did finish 16th on three occasions, prior to the GEICO 500. Later on, his performances improved and he scored 11th place at Dover. After that, he turned in some consistent Top 20 performances, before storming to 5th at Pocono. He later followed it up with a fine second place at the Daytona International Speedway.
However, his magnum opus was the 2021 Yellawood 500, where he snatched his first career Cup Series win. Admittedly, there has been a bit of a debate, since the race was halted midway because of rain. A year later though, his performances improved significantly and he turned in more Top 3 finishes. Later on at the Kansas Speedway, Bubba Wallace stormed to a second career Cup Series win. The best part was that he won it on pure pace and strategy, and no one could dispute it at all. Unfortunately, he did ruin his reputation a little, with his antics at Las Vegas, which earned him a one-race ban.
