Remember when Joey Logano labeled NASCAR fans “spoiled” a few weeks ago? It seems like Logano doesn’t want to call them that anymore, as his comments sparked massive outrage across the community. The uproar of fans was such that the Team Penske driver has retracted his previous statements.

But amid fans’ displeasure, NASCAR Cup Series driver Carson Hocevar directly responded to Logano’s verdict and slammed the #22 Ford Mustang driver’s opinions. Following the backlash, Joey Logano grabs center stage as he takes a veiled dig at Hocevar and settles the matter with the fans.

When Logano talked about the race fans last time, he took a brutal jibe at them for being spoiled. But apart from the fans, Carson Hocevar didn’t like what Joey Logano said about the community and slammed the driver. Within no time, Hocevar replied to Logano and wrote, “Why do we pretend and act like we give fans the most access?”

Carson Hocevar then laid down the ground reality and explained that though NASCAR drivers’ access is good, it’s not the best. He asked to give fair treatment to the loyal fans and commented, “Our access is good, but not the best, and not full access to the average fan. And when we take notice of that, we will able to make progress. Our fans are one of the most loyal fans, they should be treated as such.”

Hocevar’s verdict didn’t sit well with Logano, which is somewhat evident from his words when he expressed during the Sirius XM NASCAR Radio episode, “I didn’t get paid a deal, I did that because I want to make it better for the next generation of not just racers but race fans. I did 20-plus fan appearances away from the track last year, so when I heard when some other undereducated people saying about what I am and what I do, and attacked me, it was really frustrating and maybe mad, and I thought I need to clear this up”.

However, Joey Logano didn’t hold back from slamming those who believed the Team Penske driver doesn’t engage with the fans unless paid, following which he also defended his “spoiled fans” narrative.

When Joey Logano labeled the fans as “spoiled,” it instantly became controversial, which he probably didn’t expect. So he had to clear the air and came up with a defensive tone and said, “I was saying that as race fans, and I’m including myself, don’t have much room to complain on that subject. Is it hard being a race fan from other standpoint? 100%! Weather is always a challenge, no doubt. Cost of being a race fan is expensive. Camping, hotels, tickets, it’s not cheap to go to a NASCAR race. 100% it’s not easy to be at.”

After Joey Logano connected with fans’ discomfort, he didn’t forget to mention his love for NASCAR and how the fans sometimes frustrate him and unfurled, “But I would say that we give great access to our fans, and it’s unfortunate, and it was pretty frustrating to hear where this went because I feel like I tried to do so much for the sport because I love it and I care about the people in it, and I was being the driver advisor council because it was better for everybody.”
