Team Penske driver Joey Logano seems like a fun-loving guy with a playful smile on his face. However, that very impression starts to fade when his rivals experience close battles with his No. 22 Ford Mustang, with which he could do whatever it takes to win, and by that, we mean whatever! Even if it needs to shove another driver out of the race. His ruthless attitude might seem enthralling to many, but it’s also the prime reason behind his fans’ displeasure.
Logano has had several instances when he encountered severe backlash from the fans due to his controversial comments, generally about some race. But, this time, however, Logano has sparked massive controversy as his verdict about NASCAR fans has backfired.

During the SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (Ch. 90) episode, the Team Penske driver, under the impression that NASCAR fans have more freedom than fans of any other sport, expressed his views which became a controversy in an instant.
Logano expressed his love for the fans but also drew parallels between NASCAR and the NFL and said, “Our fans are spoiled. I love our race fans but think about other sports for a second, when are you going to meet an NFL player? Can you access an NFL player, anytime like 3 hours before a game? No!”
He then revealed that a NASCAR fan can meet their favorite driver minutes before they step into the car and expressed, “You can meet me, 20 minutes, 10 minutes, 5 minutes before I get in the racecar, you can take a picture with me. I am there and all the other racers are the same thing.”
The No. 22 Ford Mustang driver emphasized how hard the drivers try to meet and greet their fans and said, “We walk down a red carpet and there’s people on both sides of us, and all the drivers stop and sign autographs, or at least try their hardest to. It’s hard to get everybody but you try your hardest still.”
And at last, Logano contradicted the NASCAR fans and said, “That is the norm in our sport. That doesn’t happen at any other sport, at all. So, to say we’re not accessible is wrong. That is not the case at all, we are very accessible.”

Another fan believed that the Team Penske driver crossed the line and wrote, “Yeah Joe your off the mark on this one,” while one fan emphasized how having more dollar bills in the pocket could give greater access and commented, “If you’ve got the money, they’ve got the time. Fixed it!!”
This fan, however, went into the details and also took a jibe at Logano and wrote, “I disagree. Access is very limited except when they have sponsorship obligations at the sponsor tents. Otherwise you have to pay hundreds of dollars for special garage/pit/fan passes and hope you will see your driver for an autograph.”
