Is Roger Penske star’s championship campaign teetering on the edge? As he sits in 11th place, just 5 points above the cutline, his path to glory is far from smooth. Teammate Ryan Blaney enjoys a more comfortable position in 6th place, 13 points ahead. The Bristol showdown promises to shuffle the deck, leaving Logano sweating it out under the spotlight.

Logano stated in his interview with SiriusXM Radio, “Honestly, driver and teammate relationships could be one of the hardest things to do. Because you have to work together to be successful. And then you have to race each other because you still want to win. And then there are just feelings that get hurt there. Right? Like, are you on my side, or are you not? Right. That’s kind of the question that you ask a lot of times.”

Taking a sly dig at his team, he then asked, “Are you really on my side, or do you just want to beat me?”

“And it gets kind of tricky in the scenarios. And at least with other competitors, you know, well, they just want to beat me, and they’re not out there for me at all. And we don’t have to work together. So scr*w them all. But with your teammate, it’s different.”

Joey Logano also acknowledged that racing alongside teammates can be particularly challenging because their cars are identical, leading to frequent on-track encounters. Furthermore, Logano recognized that the desire to be the top driver within the team adds another layer of complexity to these relationships, as everyone aspires to be the dominant force in the organization. The competitive drive within the team can further complicate the already intricate dynamics of driver and teammate relationships in the world of NASCAR.
