However, now that Truex Jr. will not be seen for the upcoming season, starting from the Daytona 500, Joey Logano will take his record over. Given that Logano is only 34 years old, this new role has made fans nostalgic. It took them back to the days when he first made his entry. 

Joey Logano is all set to surpass Martin Truex Jr 

The sheer fact that Joey Logano now has a lot of chances to surpass an icon like Martin Truex Jr and recapture his title is quite an achievement in itself. Logano has been a driver on the tracks with impressive consistency. Second to him in line remains Brad Keselowski. The Team Penske winner has got 576 races in a row, counting this year’s Daytona 500. Consequently, Keselowski has a total of 540 starts. The numbers are quite close, however, Logano, given his track record of being present on the tracks, will take the lead. 

Notably, Logano and Keselowski started their combat on tracks together for the Cup Series in 2008. However, Logano was the one who got involved full-time in the race in 2009. Meanwhile, Brad Keselowski took one more. During this tenure, he was involved as a part-time driver. Given the kind of record he has exhibited, the number is more than any other driver. It’s approximately 150 more races than anyone else.

Recently, a discussion sparked on Reddit, speaking of this development. The post read, “Once Truex misses a race, Joey Logano will now become the “iron-man” of NASCAR aka most consecutive starts without missing any; the first born in the 1990s”. 

Logano’s streak is currently ranked at the 13th position. If he races for 7 more full seasons, he could take on Jeff Gordon’s records as well. Gordon had a record of 797 consecutive records. However, this will stand the test of time. He is currently the only 1990-born, who is in this running. Logano’s ability to consistently compete at such a high level underscores his commitment to the sport. It obviously makes him a standout among his peers.

The one true witness who has stayed with Joey Logano through all these years is none but his avid and loyal followers. In fact, Logano has a fan base that is quite popular and widespread. Speaking of how he has come a long way from where he started in 2008, a fan commented, “Man i remember when Joey was the new guy, shit time flies man”.

Another fan echoed the same emotion and said, “We are old”. Giving out how Logano started almost 18 years back in the world of NASCAR, a fan pointed out, “I was 8 when he started. That feels crazy”.
