While talking to Logano, Dan Patrick stated the recent comments that Hendrick Motorsports legend Jimmie Johnson directed at Logano. Furthermore, the conversation that ensued showed why Logano would pick Johnson’s rival over him as his favorite.
Dan Patrick: Jimmie Johnson said you were “damn good.”
Joey Logano: Well, that’s good. He’s pretty damn good himself.
Dan Patrick: Was Johnson your idol growing up?
Joey Logano: Jimmie got in a little bit later. Really, Jeff Gordon was my favorite driver. It’s cool to race against those guys. When you’re seven or eight years old and you’re watching your heroes race, you dream you’re going to race against them. I pinch myself a lot because I still think of when I was watching them on TV.
Well, this does not mean that Logano is not a Jimmie Johnson fan. It’s just that when asked to choose, the 2022 champion is more likely to pick Gordon over Johnson anytime.

And Patrick’s immediate reaction to it was to ask “Isn’t that weird?” Well, in 2015 Joey shared that he was amazed about the fact that he is racing Jeff Gordon.
