2022 had been the year of triumph for Joey Logano and his #22 Penzoil team. The team basked in the glory of a second championship win at the Phoenix Raceway, and the champagne showers were a testament to their relentless pursuit of victory. However, as the calendar flipped to 2023, the story took a heartbreaking twist. A solitary win in Atlanta had opened the door to the playoffs, but the round of 16 brought nothing but disappointment for Logano.

The playoffs proved to be an unexpected battleground, and Joey Logano, against all odds, became the first-ever defending champion to be eliminated in the opening round. Fast forward to the present day, and the No. 22 Ford driver once again finds himself in the headlines, but this time for an entirely unexpected reason. The revelation of potential illegal activities has the NASCAR crowd filled with chatter as “Mad Max” makes his debut cameo on Logano’s Instagram.

The 33-year-old has experienced his fair share of ups and downs in the world of NASCAR, but 2023 has tested his resolve like never before. It was a year of setbacks, missed opportunities, and frustrating moments on the track. But Joey Logano, not one to dwell on the past, as he candidly expressed on Sirius XM NASCAR Radio, has his sights firmly set on a triumphant comeback in 2024.

With a determined tone, Joey Logano declared, “And now we try to get better for next year. At this point, we can’t back down. Like we’re fired up. I’m ticked. So, we are going to make some big things happen and will try to get better by the end of the year. And we have seven races to figure out. We had seven races to help the 12 try to win a championship. We’ll do that, and fire away next year even stronger.”

While 2024 is a few showdowns away, the driver of the No. 22 Ford finds himself back in the spotlight, and this time, it isn’t just about his racing skills. The center of attention is a recent Instagram post where the 33-year-old proudly boasted a monstrous truck. This is no ordinary truck; it is a beast of the roads, roaring like a creature unbound. Joey Logano has given it the fitting name of “Mad Max.” In the video, the truck is seen pulling a sleek, rounded, and polished aluminum coachwork—an Airstream.

In the Instagram post, Logano unveiled the truck as his camping companion as plumes of smoke billowed from its exhaust as it roared down the open road, and the unexpected stunt ignited a frenzy of gossip.

Comments were quick to pour in as one fan quipped, “I’m wondering how many climate change people are complaining for all that pollution right to say. Joke to the side I’m just joking, that’s absolutely cool.” It seems the No. 22’s daring maneuvers might have raised some environmental concerns, but many were quick to dismiss them in the name of entertainment.

Another observer couldn’t help but ponder, “Hope the vents were closed on that airstream.” The sheer sound and spectacle of his performance left fans in awe. “That sound!!!!” one exclaimed. For some, it was all about the technical side of things, “Just demonstrating the aero advantages on the ol stream.” As another fan commented, “Toe the frickin thing.”

But not everyone was on board with Logano’s monster of a truck. “Polluting the Air! Hate Diesel Trucks on Hwy. doing that!” voiced a concerned citizen, highlighting the environmental impact. In tune, another fan commented, “EPA has been removed from the chat.” Yet, amidst the controversy and applause, Joey Logano had his fair share of admirers. “Omg lol, would love to see this pull up to a campground!” one fan exclaimed, while another yearned for a taste of the Mad Max lifestyle, declaring, “I want a Mad Max truck!”
