Would it be wrong to say that fans have a love-hate relationship with him? Vastly criticized for being obnoxious, and infamous for saying things like he would step on his competitors’ throats, Joey Logano is so is much more than a race car driver. Just a few days ago, the man-made headlines for donating two FORD cars – an Escape and a Bronco – worth $60,000 combined to Hurricane Helene victims. Now, he continues his offseason work by celebrating with the people who helped him win this year’s championship.
He went to Ford in Huntersville, Michigan, to celebrate with FORD employees and pulled a prank, too.

Joey Logano and his wife Brittany Baca went to Ford, Michigan, to celebrate with employees of the company that contributed to the 3 times NASCAR champion’s latest win, The couple took the trophy along to Dearborn, where the driver experienced the new GTD. While Logano called it awesome and fun, he also ended up admitting to going undercover for a prank.
On Sirius XM NASCAR, the 34-year-old racer gave the audience a teaser of the prank, yet to be revealed fully, as per Ford’s instructions, it seemed. The racer said, “I can’t share it with you yet because Ford will get really upset if I share it too soon, but it’s hilarious.”
Ford asked the couple to go undercover to buy a car. “Ford asked me to go undercover and just with a disguise—my wife and I—to go to the Huntersville Ford and buy a car undercover and it was awesome. Here’s the deal, guys, we’re third-generation chicken farmers from Arkansas. We just moved to North Carolina and we needed a vehicle. And it’s priceless.” Logano called it priceless, “The salesman, his name was Joe, we scared the hell out of him. We went into the woods; he thought he was getting fired. It was great. We made this poor man so awkward.”
He added that owing to this prank, he found out how good of an actress his wife is, but this, he laughed, made him nervous. Logano is no stranger to pranks. Apart from being a 3-time champion, he established himself for his practical jokes in the NASCAR scene. Back in 2018, when Joey Logano won his first Cup Series title, he was part of an interview with FOX Sports’ Kaitlyn Vincie. While the interview started off as usual, Kaitlyn didn’t know there was a surprise waiting for her.
An unwelcome guest, a spider, slowly came down from the top of a hauler, with Vincie screaming after seeing it. Logano and the rest of the Penske team broke out laughing since it was a fake spider, part of a prank Logano helped organise. It’s one of the different aspects of Joey Logano, a racer, a believer of practical jokes, and more importantly, a person willing to give back to his community.
Logano is involved in quite a bit of charity work. His Foundation made a donation of two cars with the help of Ford. The Joey Logano Foundation supports organizations that assist children and young adults. Central to its mission is helping young people, especially those affected by abuse and trauma, to rebuild their lives. To date, the foundation has invested $6 million, impacting 250,000 youth. Notably, Joey Logano also aided victims of the 2011 tornado in rebuilding their homes. Additionally, both Baca and Logano attended a Christmas charity a few days back with presents for children.

Joey Logano was not alone in his efforts to assist those in need during the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Hendrick Automotive Group, Hendrick Motorsports, Sonic Automotive, and Speedway Motorsports also contributed significantly by making sizeable donations.
“The impact of Hurricane Helene has been catastrophic. Our organizations represent more than 22,000 team members across the country, with thousands based here in the Southeast and many with connections that make this cause profoundly personal. Our neighbors in hard-hit areas face immense challenges in rebuilding their homes, communities, and lives, and we will stand alongside them.” As part of the relief effort, over 400 pallets of donated items were sent to North Wilkesboro Speedway for distribution to the western North Carolina counties affected by the hurricane,” said the chief executives from the organizations.
Besides, Team Penske also collaborated with Shell USA, and The Joey Logano Foundation in Helene’s wake. Plus, the NASCAR community came together to support those in impacted areas. One notable effort was the Partners Powering Hurricane Recovery program, in which Shell, JPG, and PPG committed to matching donations up to $100,000. The funds raised were directed towards various charities, including Crossnore Communities for Children, the Bristol (TN) Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities, Least of These, and the Children’s Hope Alliance.
