Alright NASCAR fans, listen up, something amazing just dropped that no one had any idea was happening or was possible for that matter, and it’s got the internet absolutely buzzing. We all love the high-speed drama that NASCAR provides on the track, with nail-biting finishing and intense rivalries on the track. Well, this time the drama is not on the track, it’s on Instagram and it involves none other than the legend himself, Joe Gibbs. Yeah, the Joe Gibbs. The Hall of Famer, Super Bowl winning coach and the man who built a racing empire with Joe Gibbs Racing.
We all have seen Gibbs with his calm demeanor, guiding players to 3 Super Bowl wins and winning 5 Cup Series Championships with his racing team. But what if we told you he just dropped a social media bomb in a new advertisement with Interstate Batteries and Joe Gibbs Racing, that has everyone from seasoned veterans to casual fans, absolutely losing it?
You might be wondering what it is about an advertisement that’s got the world so riled up. It’s a commercial of a racing company with company that makes batteries, perfectly natural, and happen all the time. But let’s just say normally they all lack a certain flair, or in this case, a certain ‘Coach Rizz’.

Coach’s Rizz aura caught everyone by surprise
So here’s what happened: Joe Gibbs Racing just posted an Instagram video, and it’s … something else. In a move that no one saw coming from miles away, Coach Gibbs decided to embrace Gen Z lingo, the internet slang, the whole deal—or shall we say the whole shebang? Yes, you read that right. The Super Bowl winner coach, who has coached legends, was seen serving up Gen Z internet slang like he’s been doing it his whole life.
He started the video by taking his “besties” on a tour of the Joe Gibbs Racing, with a tour of the trophy room, where he flexed the victories with saying they’re “serving major flex”. Then he headed downstairs to a “no-rizz zone”, whatever that means in NASCAR terms. He pointed out the banners, which according to him, “understood the assignment” and described the floor vibes as “low-key iconic”. And the best of them all, ladies and gentleman, we knew this but in the words of Joe Gibbs, “losing gives me the ick” and not to forget the many “Slay” peppered throughout the video.

Parker Klingerman, who’s never to shy away from a joke, commented “This is low key hilarious.” JGR’s Derrel Edwards joined in adding, “🤣😂 Coach got the swag.” And the common opinion? “Didn’t know Joe was chill like that.” And we are pleased to announce that “Coach Rizz” has officially entered our NASCAR vocabulary.
One fan in complete disbelief wrote, “Deada⸺ he didn’t just do this, chat. Coach is cooking.” Well, Interstate batteries and JGR have entered their 33rd year of collaboration together. The team has seen the likes of M&M’s and FedEx leave their camp with the changing dynamics of NASCAR sponsorship. But, Interstate sticking by with yet another primary sponsorship saw Coach dance to the tune of their new commercial, and let’s just say it is a big hit. The veteran team owner took NASCAR’s expansion vision a tad bit seriously.
Now it’s fair to say that JGR and Interstate Batteries took some inspiration from the Rizzler himself. The TikTok star who boasts 1.5 million followers brought the rizz face at the Daytona 500 earlier this month. Noah Gragson and Carson Hocevar had fun interacting with the social media sensation. And it looks like his influence in the NASCAR garage isn’t restricted to just drivers. “JGR: Joe Gibbs Rizzing” a race fan added.

Well, it seems like not just JGR and Coach but others have also upped their social media game. We saw Brad Keselowski and Consumer Cellular deliver a hilarious commercial. Keselowski was hell-bent on cutting costs on anything and everything. Right from his race suit, and race car to office gear, nothing was out of bounds. It seems like fans are keeping a tab on the team’s social media presence and this fan in particular was convinced that Coach outplayed his competition. “Chat, is the competition cooked?”
If sponsorship deals can deliver marketing campaigns like this, NASCAR fans would want to see Coach Gibbs star in every one of them. He might be a passionate racer at heart, but he certainly knows how to put on a show with his acting skills as well.
