Owned by former NFL coach, Joe Gibbs, JGR has been captivating fans’ imaginations with its elite drivers and competent crew members. Recently, they have been a part of the celebration for the proud Toyota brand following Martin Truex Jr‘s ecstatic triumph at Sonoma, bringing the team to the top in the owners ranking with 525 points.

Following Father’s Day on June 18th, the JGR camp put out a short segment where its drivers chimed in to pay tributes to fathers all around the world with a hilarious dad joke clip that had fans bursting out with laughter. While the proud father in Denny Hamlin embraced the role with multiple witty quirks, including a Goodyear joke, fans dubbed JGR’s secret weapon as the winner.

JGR’s Special Father’s Day Mention Has the Community on the Floor Laughing as Martin Truex Jr Wins It Again

Certainly, the past week has been great for JGR with Truex. Not only did the #19 bring his second win of the season, but the veteran climbed to the top of the standings, redeeming himself of last year’s awful slump that garnered him criticism.

While his fellow teammate and veteran, Denny Hamlin is still chasing his first title despite being in the sport for close to 2 decades, JGR’s secret weapon, MTJ even trumped his teammate in the short clip as fans dubbed him, “MTJ FTW,” as the 42-year-old came up with a hilarious dad joke that even prompted the driver himself to share a few chuckles along with the viewers. 

Even Joe Gibbs’ grandson, Ty Gibbs, joined the banter with a few of his own. “What do clouds wear? –Thunderwear” while his fellow #20 driver chimed in with an unsuspecting ripper when he said, “I could not figure out how to fasten my seatbelt but then it clicked.” Whereas, Hamlin, the father of two girls, couldn’t resist himself when he seemed like he had some homework for the segment. He added, “I had a happy childhood, my dad used to put me in tire and roll me down the hills, those were good year.”

What was special for the fans was the active involvement of Xfinity sensations- Sammy Smith, who added in his part with a quick wit, “What kind of snakes are found in cars? – Windshield vipers.”

Whereas his #20 teammate, John Hunter Nemechek simply added in a pumpkin joke while Sonoma winner, Truex Jr outgunned everyone else with a corny dad joke, “I used to hate facial hair but then it started growing on me.”

While it was the #11 driver who started the clip with a cheesy joke, it was Martin Truex Jr who stole the show with a last-minute surprise, delivering a hilarious dad joke. Soon fans joined the fun as they dropped in to comment their thoughts about the hilarious clip.

Truex reigned victorious here as well as fans picked him as the winner despite Hamlin’s multiple efforts. However, that doesn’t mean fans identified Hamlin’s in-depth research, filling in with more than one joke, almost like he was the perfect fit for the video.

“You can Tell Denny is a Father by his just natural delivery of the jokes I know most jokes drivers read off a teleprompter but I’m convinced denny’s were from his own stash”

While other’s just mentioned the #19 driver’s quick wit stealing the spotlight from his fellow veteran teammate, Hamlin.

It was MTJ who emerged with people cheering “MTJ FTW,” in the comment section.
