Following an exciting and anti-climatic race week at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, NASCAR returns to the intermediate track in Las Vegas for a thriller. While Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s controversial driver, Sam Mayer, dodged a bullet in the nick of time, the same cannot be said for Joe Gibbs Racing‘s Xfinity sensation.
Battered and bruised by car woes, Joe Gibbs’ star attraction suffers a massive blow as the #20 Toyota gets a reminder of the Roval misery. Trouble seems to find the 26-year-old driver as he fails to post a qualifying time as mechanical issues take the best out of him, just like last week in Charlotte.

The scene is crucial for drivers as the Stock Car Racing action is nearing its crescendo with the extravaganza reaching the round of 8. Now, all that remains between the eight drivers are the three races that will determine the champion. With the action reaching the gates of the 1.5-mile intermediate track in Las Vegas, the #1-ranked driver gets a harsh reminder of Roval as the #20 JGR car raises concerns.
Last week in Charlotte, John Hunter Nemechek, Toyota’s star racing driver, suffered a major oil leak hours before the race, raising concerns and shocking JHN fans. During the qualifying rounds last week, the #20 Toyota felt as per the driver; upon closer inspection, the rear of the car had no track due to an awful oil leak. This got the car back in the garage, ending the qualifying session.
Fortunately for Nemechek starting at the end of the pack did not wear the 2021 Truck Series champion. As the race took on its pace so did the driver, despite the car showing its vulnerabilities the driver dished out a critical performance, finishing 8th. While the driver managed to complete the race amidst the car woes, the #20 team is yet again rattled by the same issue in Las Vegas.

Nemechek returned the car back to the garage as the Roval misery continued for the driver. With the driver unable to complete the qualifying run, he will have to start again from the back of the grid and fight his way to the top to ensure that the momentum is in his favor.

John Hunter Nemechek is arguably one of the top drivers in the promotion today. Though the 26-year-old tried his luck in the organization’s top-tier promotion, the Cup Series, ending bleakly, the tenacious driver just did not give up. Instead of giving up, he went straight back to the drawing board.
Nemechek, just like his new sponsor, Baja Vida, the creators of Baja-inspired snacks and seasonings, embodies the grit and determination suited for the sport. Baja Vida has a deep-rooted belief in shattering limits and embracing the journey that lies ahead, a philosophy that mirrors the thrill and excitement of stock car racing. And a rising star like Nemechek is the right man to partner up with, considering his promotion into the Cup Series.
