In a recent post shared by SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Joe Gibbs Racing’s (JGR) owner shared his views on Busch collaborating with Richard Childress Racing (RCR). He said; “We spent 15 years together, I think 56 wins or something. Unbelievable!”
Furthermore, Joe Gibbs explained that unfortunately, things couldn’t work out between Busch and JGR. He revealed; “We worked so hard at it. And there was a lot put into it. And so, it’s just one of those things in sports where you wound up saying ‘Okay! We could not get it done, we put every effort into it and worked extremely hard at it.”
Moving ahead, Gibbs said that he wish the best for Busch and his racing future. Moreover, he said that he feels Kyle Busch has found a great home with RCR. However, he added that Kyle Busch is one of the best competitors in the sport. Furthermore, he made a comical remark regarding the entire situation. he said; “And we know, I am not looking forward to race against him, I’ll tell you that. (laughs)”
But NASCAR fans could not come to terms with the fact that JGR will let go of ‘one of the best competitors’ so easily. And because of this, they called out the JGR owner for his hypocrisy. A few Twitter users questioned how a team like JGR couldn’t arrange a sponsor for one of their best drivers. Moreover, a few others accused Gibbs of being partial to his grandson.
Biggest hypocrite in ALL of auto racing… A real shame.

oh please, you were more worried and focused on getting your grandson into the cup series.

If RCR could do it. Then why couldn't Gibbs? Answer is, they low balled and thought he wouldn't leave. Very big miscalculation on their part. They truly didn't understand Kyle Busches will to win and his vision for the future. They didn't see Richard Childresses hunger to win.

I don’t understand how the best driver on your team is let go because of sponsors. It sounds like someone wasn’t working very hard. #sales/marketing.

I don't believe a word that comes out of Joe Gibbs mouth. He is a hypocrite and a bigot. Makes me 🤬 when him and that punk grandson praise god in public knowing it's just for publicity.
