After the conclusion of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season, Joe Gibbs Racing found itself in a tough spot. Although they could retain Bass Pro Shops with the arrival of Chase Briscoe, they lost out on primary sponsors like FedEx and Mavis Tries, both of whom backed the No. 11 team and Denny Hamlin. So, they had to get fast at work to ensure their drivers were secure and avoid a situation like the one they had with Kyle Busch.
It looks like JGR has finally sealed the deal with yet another major sponsor that is seen as a direct replacement for FedEx. However, Hamlin will not be the one piloting his former sponsor’s rivals for the 2025 season. There were reports about Saia Inc. joining Ty Gibbs as the new primary sponsor, and JGR has finally made this new partnership official.

Saia is known for its LTL and freight shipment services, and this is similar to what FedEx offers its consumers. The only difference is that FedEx still leads the LTL category, and Saia, with its new NASCAR venture, will look to close the gap on their direct rivals. Adam Stern from Sports Business Journal shared an update about this on X. “.@JoeGibbsRacing has found a replacement for @FedEx in the freight category with @Saia_Inc, as @Toby_Christie spotted last week.”
Joe Gibbs Racing also welcomed their new sponsors with a promotional video featuring Coach and Ty Gibbs. “We’re excited to announce that we have partnered with @Saia_Inc for a multi-year sponsorship of @TyGibbs and the No. 54 Toyota Camry XSE in the #NASCAR Cup Series.” Saia will serve as the primary sponsor for Ty Gibbs for a total of seven races in 2025.
The first race for Saia as the primary sponsor will be on February 23rd at Atlanta Motor Speedway. This will be followed by Talladega Superspeedway (April 27), Texas Motor Speedway (May 4), the All-Star race at NWS (May 18), Sonoma Raceway (July 13), Indianapolis Motor Speedway (July 27), and Las Vegas Motor Speedway (October 12).
Ty Gibbs has been on a growth trajectory ever since his Cup Series debut; last year he even made it to the playoffs with some solid performances. However, his grandfather is hoping he will lead his new sponsor, Saia, to victory lane. “Really excited to have Saia as a partner on our No. 54 Toyota Camry. They are a great company, and I hope we can put them in victory lane during this season. All of their employees have already been so supportive.” Coach Gibbs said in a press release.

Now there was no mention of Denny Hamlin being linked with Saia as his new sponsor for the #11 team. But Joe Gibbs Racing has started to back the team with new partners, and they were successful in roping in RFK Racing’s outgoing partners.

This was a rebuttal of sorts by JGR to RFK Racing after roping in King’s Hawaiian as their new sponsor. During the 2024 season, there were rumors about Kroger finding a new home with Joe Gibbs Racing from JTG Daugherty Racing. But for some reason, the deal couldn’t go through, and instead, Brad Keselowski and Co. were able to convince them to join their camp. With RFK Racing expanding to three cars alongside Ryan Preece, they needed a new sponsor, and they certainly bagged a big one.
The only issue for them was that Kings Hawaiian wasn’t pleased with this new acquisition and had a conflict of interest with Kroger. Now, JGR was keeping a close watch on the situation, and they moved in swiftly to fill the void left by FedEx in the No. 11 team. They onboarded Kings Hawaiian on a multi-year agreement that will see them sponsor the No. 11 Toyota Camry for a total of four races in 2025.
“We’re very excited to welcome King’s Hawaiian to our team. It’s certainly a product we are very familiar with in our household and a great brand that has made a strong commitment to our sport. I’m looking forward to all the exciting things that we can do on and off the track to elevate their program to the next level.” Hamlin said in a press release.

Now JGR will need more than just one partner to see out the entire 36 races for the #11 team. There might be a possibility of Saia chipping in with more sponsorship deals, or they could be in talks with new partners.
