Legacy Motor Club driver, John Hunter Nemechek bagged his second NASCAR Xfinity Series win at the Nashville Super Speedway. He was driving the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing car, making it back-to-back race wins for the #20 team. This was yet another weekend where a Cup Series driver would go on to win an Xfinity Series event.

However, this win wasn’t an easy one for Nemechek, as he locked horns against SHR’s Cole Custer. The two went back and forth with each other, but the decisive moment came with the late restart in the final stage, where he reclaimed the lead with 46 laps to go. From here on, he kept Chandler Smith at bay; only 0.366 seconds was the difference between the two drivers.

Reflecting on his win and dodging a major mishap on the pit road, John Hunter Nemechek after the race said, “Man, I thought we gave the race away there at the start of stage 3. I asked for an adjustment, probably shouldn’t have, but that mist feels really good right now. Thank you to all the fans, glory to God. Feels good to be back in this 20 machine; we’ve been close to winning a lot this year in this thing, and limited starts to be able to capitalize on that is huge.”

It was Christopher Bell who took the win last weekend at New Hampshire, and John Hunter Nemechek bagged another NASCAR Xfinity in the #20 car. So, ultimately, the Cup drivers are blocking off the points that Xfinity drivers could secure, which would help them in the playoffs or make the playoffs. But now that this has happened for the second week in a row, fans were riled up and came down heavily on the LMC star with their comments on social media.

Fans question JHN’s racing talent after he bagged the NASCAR Xfinity race win in Nashville

Just like the Cup Series, Xfinity drivers are also on the hunt for playoff points and crucial wins. Some drivers are still looking to secure their spot in the knockout round. Even if the Cup drivers win for their respective teams, no points are added or shared, leaving the drivers in the Xfinity high and dry. Seeing this become a regular theme, a fan couldn’t help but sum up his feelings in one word: “pain.”.

Although John Hunter Nemechek has been on a roll with two Xfinity wins this season, the same couldn’t be said for his Cup Series run. He’s had five race results where he’s finished 30 or worse and is currently 27th in the points standings. Riled up to see him grab the precious stage points and win that an Xfinity driver could’ve had, a fan angrily wrote, “Sick. He can go finish last tomorrow.”

In 59 Cup starts, the LMC driver has been unable to compete for race wins. But when it comes to competing in the lower-level series, he still hasn’t lost his winning touch. Aiming a dig at his winless run in the Cup Series, a user added, “Bro Can’t Win In Cup So He Ruins A Xfinity Race.”

The #20 JGR car is arguably among the fastest in the NASCAR Xfinity garage; to an extent, this helps the drivers compete for wins. However, this particular fan was unimpressed by John Hunter Nemechek’s race-winning exploits and even called him a cheat: “He’s So Irrelevant in the Cup series has to run a cheated up 20 car in Xfinity to win what a joke.”

Well, some even took it as far as calling him names, but out of the bunch, this one stood out the most, “John Hunter Nemeleech.”

What are your thoughts on the topic? Do you think Cup drivers should be allowed to compete in NASCAR Xfinity races?
