On Tuesday morning, Alex Bowman and the No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports team unveiled their throwback paint scheme. It was inspired by one of the iconic cars of the organization and is set to run at Darlington Raceway. This scheme is closely associated with its two most recent NASCAR Hall of Fame inductees. The legendary Jimmie Johnson and his crew chief, Chad Knaus.

With Ally as the primary sponsor, Bowman will drive the paint scheme that Johnson debuted during his rookie season in the 2002 NASCAR Cup Series. The scheme remained in use until the conclusion of the 2004 season. It was surely a nostalgic moment for NASCAR fans.

Alex Bowman has hit the ground running in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season, securing as many top-five finishes (four) in the first 11 races as he did throughout the previous season. Driving the No. 48 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, he currently holds the ninth position in the Regular-Season Championship Standings, marking a robust beginning to his campaign.

Although he did not get into the victory lane like all three of his teammates, Bowman initiated the season with a strong performance. He marked his season appearance with a second-place finish at the Daytona 500. Maintaining his form, Bowman achieved fourth-place finishes in successive races at Bristol and the Circuit of the Americas last month.
